A three-day celebration of Philip Glass takes place in Manchester on 13-15 February. The festival opens with a concert featuring five-time Grammy Award winner and global superstar, Angélique Kidjo. Frans Lanting’s LIFE: A Journey Through Time brings an audio-visual experience to The Bridgewater Hall with his photos displayed on the big screen accompanied by Glass’s stunning score.

The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Principal Guest Conductor Sir Mark Elder, will embark on a tour from March 5–12, 2025, marking their first tour together. The orchestra will perform seven concerts across Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands, beginning with a mini-residency at Salzburg’s Festspielhaus. The programme will feature works by Rachmaninov, Sibelius, Beethoven, and Strauss.

The Symphony Orchestra of India has appointed Martyn Brabbins as its Chief Conductor, starting January 1, 2026. He will conduct four programs each season at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Mumbai and provide guidance on artistic strategy, furthering the tradition of excellence for India’s first and only professional orchestra.

Singaporean conductor, Kahchun Wong, has launched an exciting new chapter with the Hallé Orchestra, debuting his inaugural season as Principal Conductor with a specially created suite of pieces from Britten’s The Prince of the Pagodas and Mahler’s First Symphony. Kahchan's diverse programming this season also spotlights symphonies by Beethoven, Brahms, Bruckner, Mahler, and Shostakovich, as well as works by Unsuk Chin, Tan Dun, Akira Ifukube, and James MacMillan.

Esther Yoo’s 2024-25 season includes the North American and Asian premieres of Raymond Yiu’s Violin Concerto and performances of Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Netherlands Radio, China, Shanghai, and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras. She will also join her Z.E.N. Trio colleagues for the ensemble’s Wigmore Hall debut and collaborate with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Highlights include the UK premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s HUSH, a focus on works by Grażyna Bacewicz, Britta Byström, and Dora Pejačević, and performances of Busoni’s Piano Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Berliner Philharmoniker, and Orchestre national de France.
