Reiss’ 2019/20 season includes a rare performance of Beethoven’s complete incidental music to Goethe’s play Egmont, with the Academy of Ancient Music and Richard Egarr at the Barbican Centre. They will also record the Lieder from Egmont for a recording on Onyx Classics of works for soprano by Beethoven, which will also include concert arias such as ‘Ah perfido!’ and ‘Primo amore’, and Marzelline’s aria from Fidelio. The recording is due for release in February 2020 as part of Beethoven’s 250th birthday celebrations.
