Fenella Humphreys


Fenella Humphreys performs around the world as both a soloist and chamber musician. She received the BBC Music Magazine’s 2018 Instrumental Award for her recent Bach to the Future project, a set of six new unaccompanied works by Cheryl Frances-Hoad, Gordon Crosse, Sally Beamish, Adrian Sutton, Piers Hellawell and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, which was recorded over two CDs for Champs Hill Records.

A passionate chamber musician, Humphreys performs with Ensemble Perpetuo, Counterpoise and I Musicanti and collaborates regularly with artists including Alexander Baillie, Adrian Brendel, Pekka Kuusisto, Alec Frank-Gemmill and Martin Lovett.

Fenella Humphreys, together with the Covent Garden Sinfonia and Ben Palmer, will release a new recording in June 2019 on Rubicon Classics . The programme includes Max Richter’s Four Season’s Recomposed, Pēteris Vasks’ Lonely Angel and Arvo Pärt’s Fratres.
