Hallé CD Label
In 2003 the Hallé launched its own CD label featuring live recordings by composers including Elgar, Richard Strauss, Colin Matthews, Debussy, and Wagner.
The Hallé’s acclaimed live recording of Wagner’s Götterdämmerung conducted by Sir Mark Elder was the winner of the prestigious Gramophone Opera Award in 2010. In the same year, the label also won a second Gramophone Award in the Concerto category, for Thomas Zehetmair’s recording of Elgar’s Violin Concerto with Sir Mark Elder conducting.
The Hallé’s recording of Elgar’s The Kingdom won a 2011 BBC Music Magazine Award.
