In 2003 the Hallé launched its own CD label featuring live recordings by composers including Elgar, Richard Strauss, Colin Matthews, Debussy, and Wagner.

The Hallé’s acclaimed live recording of Wagner’s Götterdämmerung conducted by Sir Mark Elder was the winner of the prestigious Gramophone Opera Award in 2010. In the same year, the label also won a second Gramophone Award in the Concerto category for Thomas Zehetmair’s recording of Elgar’s Violin Concerto with Sir Mark Elder. The Hallé’s recording of Elgar’s The Kingdom won a BBC Music Magazine Award in 2011 while in 2013, their recording of Elgar’s The Apostles won both the BBC Music Magazine Recording of the Year and Choral Awards and the Gramophone Choral Award.

Following on the success of Götterdämmerung, 2012 saw the release of a live recording of Die Walküre, taken from the highly-acclaimed concert performance at 2011’s Manchester International Festival. The latest Hallé recording is Siegfried, released in June 2019.
