Based at The Grange in Hampshire, The Grange Festival was founded in 2016 and launched in June 2017, with Michael Chance as its Artistic Director. The festival’s artistic vision recognises the fundamental importance of storytelling to opera, pursued through a rich combination of musical, visual and dramatic arts.

The Grange Festival has residency partnerships with The Academy of Ancient Music and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. The AAM and conductor Richard Egarr open the 2019 season on 6 June with Martin Lloyd-Evans’s new production of Le nozze di Figaro, before the BSO under Francesco Cilluffo turn to Falstaff. Handel’s oratorio Belshazzar stands as the season’s third new staging, conducted by Harry Christophers and given in collaboration with The Sixteen Choir and Orchestra. Wayne McGregor returns for his second Dance@TheGrange project, while the John Wilson Orchestra and John Wilson return to The Grange with Hollywood & Broadway, an evening of hits from stage and screen.
